When a Sage has genuine interest in your product after a Sagetap session, they can 'opt-in' to reveal their identity and meet with you outside of our platform. This article will review what an opt-in is, how to manage them, and what happens after a Sage chooses to opt-in.

How does it work?

Once a Sage completes their post-session feedback, they have the option to opt-in by either providing upcoming meeting times, or sharing their work email address to continue the conversation.

Once the Sage takes this action, you will automatically receive an introduction via email. If they select 'Let's chat via email', we require that they share a deadline for when you can expect to hear back from them. We automatically send reminders to close the loop as that deadline approaches, ensuring this opportunity is top of mind for the Sage.

Managing an Opt-in

After receiving an opt-in, it is helpful to keep in mind the following best practices:

  • Reply as soon as you can to set next-steps while the session is still fresh in the Sage's mind.

  • Review the Sagetap session to understand the Sage's feedback and outstanding questions to ensure your communication is as successful as possible.

While it is important to respect a Sage's set timeline for following up, it is vital to be prepared and proactive in the interim.

Closing the Loop: Opt-in Follow-ups

When a Sage opts-in after a Sagetap session, we hold them accountable on closing the loop once the deadline they provided approaches. Sages will receive reminders asking them to either share availability for the follow-up meeting, postpone next steps with a reason, or close out the opportunity if they are no longer interested, eliminating any guesswork on your end.

When that deadline arrives, we will reach out and ask that you let us know if the Sage has followed up with you or not, aiding us in taking note of their behavior on our platform. This helps us paint a full picture of a Sage's reputation and activity, which you can see reflected on their profiles under "Opt-in Responsiveness."
