Sage Payment FAQ's

General Questions

I read that Sagetap stopped paying Sages. Is that true?

We’ve updated our payment structure, and eligible calls are now paid. You are compensated for feedback and expertise provided for research calls—not for sales calls. You can filter for paid opportunities under

Discover in the left-side navigation of the platform.

Why did Sagetap change the payment structure?

As we’ve continued to evolve the platform and gather feedback from our Sage community, we’ve decided on a model where Sages are compensated for eligible research calls. We believe this is a better reflection of the time and expertise Sages contribute to the Sagetap community, while also creating a simpler and more consistent experience around compensation.

Is this change temporary?

The revised payment structure is part of our current payment model and is not intended as a temporary change.

Why was I previously told that calls weren't paid?

Sagetap regularly experiments to create the best possible experience for Sages and Vendors, so our payment model may evolve over time. Today, eligible research calls and surveys are paid, while introductory sales calls are not currently eligible for payment. Any payment eligibility and the number of credits you’ll receive will be clearly shown when you request or accept a meeting opportunity. If a call is unpaid, it will show as 0 credits.

Can you explain what you mean by "paid"? How do credits work?

Yes! For research calls and completed surveys, you’ll receive credits, which can now be cashed out through your linked payment method from your Credit Wallet (located in your Sagetap Settings). You also have the option to apply your credits toward Sage-to-Sage calls.

Payment & Eligibility

Which calls are eligible for payment?

You’re paid for research, feedback, and surveys; you’re not paid for sales calls. The credits you’ll be paid for the call will be visible before you accept or request any call.

How is the payment amount determined for my call?

Each sage has a rate multiplied by the length of the call. Sales calls are not eligible for payment.

When will I receive payment for an eligible call?

Once an eligible call and/or survey has been completed, it takes 3 days for the credits to be available for withdrawal. You can always monitor the status from your Credit Wallet in your Sagetap settings.

Changes & Account Questions

I have calls from before the payment change. Will those be paid?

If you have credits from previous calls in your Credit Wallet, you can cash them out through your linked payment method. This applies to any credits currently available in your wallet.

Can payment amounts or eligibility change again in the future?

As with any platform policy, Sagetap may make adjustments as the platform evolves. If there are material changes to the payment structure, we’ll communicate those updates to the Sage community.

Where can I find the most up-to-date information about payments?

The latest payment information and eligibility guidelines will be reflected in Sagetap’s current email communications and Help Center resources. If you have a question that isn’t covered there, please reach out to our team.

I used to receive credits instead of payment. What happens to those?

Your credits aren’t going anywhere. You can still use them for Sage-to-Sage calls, and now all credits can also be cashed out through your Credit Wallet using your linked payment method.

Why should I continue participating if the payment structure has changed?

Sagetap gives you a way to connect with top technology vendors without the usual sales spam or having to share your contact information directly. You stay in control of the conversations you choose to have.

You can also earn payment for research calls and surveys where you’re sharing your expertise and feedback. You’re being compensated for the value of your knowledge—not for considering, purchasing, or recommending a product. This also keeps the experience more transparent and avoids creating a conflict of interest around sales calls.

Can you make an exception and pay me for this call?

We’re not able to make individual exceptions to the payment structure. Payment eligibility is based on the current rules and applicable call type so that we can apply the policy consistently across the Sage community.
