Sagetap Messaging makes it easy to chat directly with Vendors or other Sages once a connection has been made through a meeting proposal or acceptance.
You can use this feature to:
Confirm meeting details or agendas
Share relevant links or resources
Follow up after sessions with notes, next steps, or a quick thank you.
Note: Messaging keeps you connected and in control of your privacy. You can start or continue conversations before or after a meeting, without revealing your identity.
How It Works
Once you’ve connected with a Vendor or Sage by proposing or accepting a meeting, messaging becomes available for that connection.
To initiate a message, navigate to the Inbox and click the row of interest to open the activity drawer. Click to the chat tab and you’ll be able to start messaging:
Note: Once you type and send your message, the chat will be open and ready and you can only send a single message until the other party responds.
When you have a new message, you’ll see a red dot next to your Inbox in the navigation bar and beside the specific connection.
Click on the Sage/Vendor to open the Activity Drawer:
Click on the Chat tab to read the message:
At the bottom of the drawer, you’ll see the chat interface:
Messaging Guidelines & Best Practices
Sagetap is designed for productive conversations. To keep communication professional and effective, follow these best practices:
Keep it professional: Communicate respectfully and clearly, just as you would in a meeting.
Be timely: If you promised to follow up, do so promptly. A clear “no” is better than no response.
Be concise: Since the first message can’t be edited, include all key information in your initial note.
Note : You can block messaging from any Vendor or Sage at any time. Messaging will not reveal your identity unless you choose to share it.
Blocking Messages
Both Sages and Vendors can block each other at any time.
Only one message can be sent until the other party replies.
The blocking party can unblock the chat later if desired.
Once blocked, no new messages can be sent in that conversation.
Notifications
You can manage your messaging notifications in your settings.
Two independent options are available:
Notify me of new chat requests
Notify me of replies (includes a daily digest of unread messages)
Formatting Tips
You can use basic Markdown in your messages to format text, such as:
Bold or italic
Bulleted lists
Blockquotes
Links
Note: 📎 File uploads and images are not supported at this time.
